Course: Mindfulness in 1 hour

In this course you will learn the fundamentals of Mindfulness. 1 hour of concise video material will give you a broad knowledge on what mindfulness is, why it has increased in popularity recently and why it matters so much for our society.

The course material consists of:

- 11 videos to give you theoretical background knowledge.

- 10 mindfulness audio tracks to further deepen your practice.

- 100 days exercise challenge to track and follow your progress.

- A 6 page handout to provide an overview of the most relevant points.

1. Mindfulness: Improving concentration and well-being in uncertain times

The COVID-19 crisis showed us more than ever how uncertain life can become. The climate crisis, increased digitalisation and social acceleration are just some mega trends that cause uncertainty and enormous to-do lists. Many employees often feel overwhelmed. One way to deal with this challenge is called mindfulness.

Scientists across the globe identify positive effects of mindfulness. Companies like Google, Beiersdorf and SAP implement mindfulness training. Questions arise: What is mindfulness? Why does it help so many people to cope with the ever-accelerating society? How can mindfulness support concentration (on the important things in life)? 3. Building a mindful and agile organisation

Manage unexpected events with mindfulness: Everything becomes faster - that is at least the perception of most people. New software, products or trends evolve every day. Skills you recently learned are redundant in a couple of months. Organisations have similar challenges. In the 1980’s strategies lasted for 10 years; nowadays they are being replaced nearly every year. This is a problem because uncertainty rises.

Therefore mindful, agile and adaptable organisations become increasingly important. Organisations capable of continuous adaptation have a competitive advantage. You only find few concepts dealing with the management of unexpected events. The famous professors Karl Weick and Kathleen Sutcliffe developed a concept called organisational mindfulness. In this seminar you will learn the foundations of their approach to manage unexpected events. You will learn:
